Funding treatments to end paralysis...
THE BIG LUNCH at Cornelly Close/Green - Llandaff North Cardiff 4th June 2017
Trust PA Spinal Injury is grateful for the invitation, with many thanks to everyone who supported the BIG LUNCH.
Packing the Trust PA charity raffle prizes & kit was done in the rain which we hoped would soon stop. We left home to arrive on site for 12noon giving us an hour to set up and put out our banners etc. But it was bucketing down so we sat in the car watching & waiting for it to eventually end. Everything was well & truly soaking wet but at exactly 1.05pm the rain stopped – just as the weather forecast predicted. So we gingerly ventured out to set everything up, ready for friends & residents to arrive for the afternoon festivities. The bouncy Castle was inflated; the ice-cream man arrived. The band Mr Hooper that had been sheltering to keep dry, started to set up their amps, speakers, mic & instruments. The sun started to peep through and eventually the day turned out bright, sunny, breezy and thankfully dry!
The afternoon continued with music, dancing, children playing, face painting, food & drinks. We were very pleased to have been invited & involved; Steve kindly shared information about Trust PA Spinal Injury and our funding focus with the people present. Sue Huxton and friends had done a lot of good work to prepare for this event and almost everyone who attended seemed to end up with a raffle prize of some sort. The talented band Mr Hooper played an excellent range of music that everyone enjoyed and in-between sets, there was an eclectic mix of past favourites. The afternoon finished at around 4:30pm. in bright sunshine and clear blue skies, quite a change from initial our arrival.
